‘Won’t be solved overnight’: Perth rental warning as vacancy rate drops further

Perth’s rental vacancy rate slipped to 0.7 per cent in September, with REIWA chief executive Cath Hart saying the shortage had been years in the making and would not be resolved quickly. National housing figures pointed to a 20,000 dwelling shortfall in Western Australia over three years, while MCG data showed the state’s share of investor activity had risen from about 9 per cent to 32 per cent.
