A Property Investors Council of Australia survey found many Queensland landlords struggling with higher mortgage repayments and alarmed by talk of capping rent increases. PICA chair Ben Kingsley said restricting rental income while costs kept climbing would reduce supply. PIPA chair Nicola McDougall said earlier research showed 160,000 rental properties had left Queensland markets in two years, and warned more owners would sell if caps proceeded.
