PIPA chair Nicola McDougall told a podcast that 14 per cent of the roughly 1,300 respondents to the organisation’s 2024 sentiment survey had sold at least one rental in the year, up from 12 per cent. Brisbane and Melbourne recorded the highest share of sales, and more than 70 per cent of investors reported annual interest bills rising by as much as $60,000. She said policy churn was pushing long-term holders out.
