Queensland’s vacancy rates showed signs of levelling off but remained extremely tight across the regions, with Maryborough at 0.1 per cent and Gympie and the Southern Downs at 0.2 per cent, the REIQ’s September report found. Chief executive Antonia Mercorella said some investors were selling to capture capital growth, although investor lending in the state reached $1.86 billion in August, its strongest month since 2007.
