Money Magazine reported that PIPA research traced house prices five years on from every recession or downturn of the past 50 years and found them higher each time, with some gains reaching 100 per cent, even as S&P Global Ratings forecast a 10 per cent national fall. Advisers interviewed warned against selling into a weak market given the transaction costs involved, and suggested assessing a property’s long run performance first.
