Regions versus cities: What’s the outlook for investors?

Research by PIPA board director Peter Koulizos comparing June 2004 with June 2024 found capital cities outperformed regional areas over two decades, led by Adelaide with median house price growth of 209 per cent, ahead of Hobart, Brisbane and Perth. Hotspotting’s Terry Ryder noted regions had led growth over the shorter post-pandemic period.
