PIPA survey figures showed investor sales in regional Victoria rose from 6.4 per cent to 9.32 per cent while Melbourne’s share fell from 24.8 per cent to 21.1 per cent, with younger rentvestors picking up stock in centres such as Shepparton. Agents pointed to migration and local amenities supporting rental demand there. PIPA representatives said Melbourne still held long-term growth potential despite compliance costs and land tax.
