Queensland’s budget committed $8.1 billion over five years towards housing, including the $165 million Boost to Buy shared equity scheme and an extension of the $30,000 home buyer grant to June 2026. Premier David Crisafulli said the state was aiming for the country’s highest home ownership rate within a decade. Industry figures including PIPA chair Nicola McDougall welcomed thresholds they said reflected current prices.
