La Trobe Financial expected a sharp rebound for housing once lockdown measures eased, pointing to falls of roughly 10 per cent followed by recoveries after the global financial crisis and the 2017 to 2019 downturn. CoreLogic recorded national values up 0.7 per cent in March, though head of research Tim Lawless expected sales volumes to drop sharply as confidence weakened and lending tightened.
