Plenty of investors still keen to buy property

Press coverage 17 December 2022 Summary of published coverage

Two mortgage brokers reported no let up in investor enquiry despite higher rates and tighter lending, arguing that scarce listings and minimal rental vacancies had created favourable conditions for buyers with a long horizon. They said the market had shifted from favouring sellers to favouring buyers during the second half of 2022. Industry research was also cited showing 19 per cent of Queensland investors were weighing a sale within a year.
