“Nearly 270,000 rental dwellings disappear”

PIPA’s eighth annual investor sentiment survey, covering 1,618 investors, found 45.1 per cent had sold at least one Queensland property in the two years to August 2022, with about 65 per cent of those dwellings going to owner occupiers. That pointed to a potential loss of nearly 270,000 rental homes nationally. A further 19 per cent intended to sell in the year ahead, most often citing the state’s new land tax.
