Investors flee rental market amid rising costs and new taxes

Coverage of PIPA’s 2024 survey highlighted that investor confidence had weakened, with just 45 per cent of respondents rating it a good time to buy residential property, against 55 per cent in the previous survey. Government intervention in the rental market was the leading concern, cited by 86.8 per cent. Holding and compliance costs were the most common reason given for selling.
