A regional property column drew on PIPA’s 2024 sentiment survey, which found 14.1 per cent of respondents sold a rental in the year to August, up from 12.1 per cent. Around 65 per cent of those homes went to owner occupiers or first home buyers rather than other investors. A local agent said land tax had done more damage to Victoria’s rental market than any other factor.
