House vs apartment: Which is better for first home buyers?

Choosing between a house and an apartment came down largely to budget and preferred location for most first home buyers, according to buyer’s agent Wendy Chamberlain. Domain figures showed apartments were on average about $256,000 cheaper than houses across the capitals in the March 2020 quarter. PIPA chairman Peter Koulizos said many first home buyers still preferred houses for their familiarity, scope to extend and outdoor space.
