Property specialists outlined the fundamentals behind suburb capital growth, pointing to schools, shops, transport and planned infrastructure as well as sustained buyer demand for freestanding houses. PIPA chair Nicola McDougall said every purchase should be strategic, while Propertyology’s Simon Pressley argued that warm climates and big cities held no inherent growth advantage. McDougall added that attempting to pick market peaks and troughs usually left buyers doing nothing.
