Research from The Female Investor named five affordable areas offering growth potential for rentvestors, beginning with Cranbourne in Melbourne’s Casey council area, where the median was about $657,000 and the vacancy rate 1 per cent. Co-authors Kate Hill and Nicola McDougall said the strategy allowed buyers to own an asset while continuing to rent in expensive cities such as Sydney and Melbourne.
