Don’t hate your landlord

A finance commentator argued renters should direct their frustration at governments rather than landlords, citing Australian Taxation Office data showing 2.2 million investors, more than 71 per cent of whom owned a single rental property. He pointed to PIPA survey findings that 12 per cent of investors had sold a rental in the past year, with tax and tenancy law changes the most commonly cited reasons.
