‘Bugging out”: The new property investment trend for 2022

Investors were increasingly buying rental homes they intended to occupy themselves for part of the year, creating a retreat to use during emergencies such as lockdowns. MCG Quantity Surveying director Mike Mortlock said about a quarter of owners now lived in a property before letting it, and Herron Todd White’s Kevin Brogan expected these dual purpose homes to become more common through 2022.
