Australia’s rental market sees median rents increase 14.6% over the year

PropTrack’s September quarter rental report recorded a national median advertised rent of $550 a week, up 3.8 per cent on the quarter and 14.6 per cent over the year, with capital city rents rising 12.2 per cent. New rental listings fell 5.7 per cent to their weakest September in more than a decade, while record population growth and continued investor selling kept supply tight.
