Australian property today: A factsheet on the housing market

A snapshot of the Australian housing market in the second quarter of 2023 put the national median house price at $709,130 and average weekly rent at $570, with the vacancy rate down to 1.4 per cent. Roughly 71.5 per cent of investors owned a single rental property. PIPA figures indicated close to one in five landlords intended to sell at least one property during 2023.
