Rental bond figures suggested rental stock was shrinking in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia as landlords sold, with Victorian bonds down more than 15,600 over a year. First home buyers picked up some of that stock, accounting for 29.4 per cent of Victorian borrowing in the year to April, while investors cited land tax rises, tenancy reforms and higher interest rates as reasons for leaving.
