Buyers’ agents were arguably more useful for investment purchases than for family homes because the decision rested entirely on long-term performance, REBAA president Cate Bakos said. Propertyology’s Simon Pressley added that poorly informed purchasers often overpaid or overestimated likely returns while trying to avoid a fee that was usually far smaller than the cost of a bad decision.
