Investor numbers fall 27 per cent as prices rebound

New investor loan commitments had fallen by upwards of 27 per cent since the rate rising cycle began, Australian Bureau of Statistics figures showed, even as prices rebounded across most markets. PIPA chair Nicola McDougall said fewer purchases combined with heavy selling had entrenched record low vacancy rates, and criticised governments for offering incentives for build to rent while ignoring private landlords.
