Buyers agents were divided into two broad camps in a commentary piece, local specialists with deep suburb knowledge and borderless operators guided by data, with neither model judged sufficient on its own. Low barriers to entry had allowed underqualified newcomers into the sector, it argued, and data was better suited to explaining market drivers than forecasting growth. Interviewing agents across several locations was recommended.
