Chairman: Peter Koulizos

QPIA®, Graduate Diploma in Property, Masters of Business (Property), Teaching Degree

Peter is currently the Co-ordinator of the property and share Investment courses at TafeSA. He also teaches the property program at the University of South Australia. He has been teaching in real estate and investment for almost 20 years. Peter also personally invests in property and currently holds several properties. Peter has the ability to combine the theory of property investment with the practical aspects so as to teach people how to make money for themselves from investing in property, whether they be buying, selling, renting, renovating or developing property.

Peter researches property markets around the nation, looking for the best suburbs to invest in each capital city. He has published two books, "The Property Professor's Top Austalian Suburbs" and more recently "Property vs Shares".  He is also a regular contributor to numerous newspapers, magazines and websites and is sought after by TV and radio for his research and comments on the property market.  

   

Deputy Chairman: David McMillan

David is the Acquisitions Director and Principal at Performance Property.  With 14 years experience in the property industry, David is a fully licensed real estate agent in Victoria and Queensland, a Certified Practicing Property Valuer, a Qualified Property Investment Adviser and active investor. 

He has been involved in more than $500 million worth of transactions across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.  David joined the Australian Property Institute in 2001 and is now an Associate.  David is also a member of the Real Estate Institute.

Ben Kingsley

Ben is the CEO and founder of Empower Wealth Advisory – a specialist Property Investment firm. He has over 20 years experience in property investing, analysis and advisory work.

Ben is a highly sought after property commentator and key note speaker in the property, money management and investment fields, featuring on Sky Business News, ABC News 24, Melbourne Property TV, Look at Property and is the author of many property investment, wealth management and personal finance articles and research reports in the major industry publications.

He is the Co-Host of the very popular free podcast – The Property Couch. He brings a long history of successful business acumen that will provide a greater voice and awareness for PIPA. 


   

Director: Margaret Lomas

Margaret is a Property Investment Author, Television Host, past chair and current Board Member of the Property Investment Professionals of Australia and Founding Director of Destiny Financial Solutions (DFS), a company which has assisted Property Investors across Australia through mentor support and education for more than 24 years.

Margaret is the creator, host and producer of the Web TV property investment shows 'Property Investing Matters' and 'Under the Spotlight'.  In addition to being one of Australia's most recognised and respected property experts, Margaret is the best-selling author of 9 property investment books including titles such as "How to Achieve Property Success" and '20 Must Ask Questions® for Every Property Investor'.

She is a past Telstra NSW Businesswoman of the Year, Westpac Business Owner of the Year and her company was a recipient of the Australian Business Award for Best Value.

Phillip Tarrant

Phillip is a media professional and active property investor. He has more than 10 years' experience reporting on the mortgage and property markets and has worked extensively with Australia's leading mortgage lenders and brokers as a corporate communications and public relations consultant.

As a property investor, Phillip advocates the importance of research, due diligence and recruiting the right team of professionals to help make informed and educated property investment decisions. As well as being editor of Smart Property Investment, Phillip sits on the Board of the Property Investments Professionals of Australia, the peak body for the property investment industry.

He also sits on the Board of Publishers Australia, which advocate best practice, innovation and professionalism in publishing. These two positions offer Phillip insights and awareness into the latest issues, activities and best practice principles of both industries, ensuring Smart Property Investment remains focused on delivering the highest quality content to its readers. 


   

Director: Steve Waters

Is a Director and Co-founder of Right Property Group, a specialist property investment consultancy and Buyers Agency located in Sydney, New South Wales. Steve is a fully licenced Real Estate Agent with the New South Wales Department of Fair Trading who has over 10 years of direct and comprehensive property investment experience and is himself an accomplished property investor with a substantial property holding.

Since becoming a Buyer's Agent, Steve has successfully assessed, inspected and negotiated more than 1000 transactions. With his extensive networks and proven results, Steve is often approached by other industry peers to act on their behalf when locating and negotiating properties to add to their own portfolios.

Director: Nicola McDougall

Bachelor of Journalism, Master of Creative Writing

Nicola is the owner of Noodle Communications, a public relations and media consultancy that specialises in property.

She has previously been the editor of Australian Property Investor (API) magazine and has been continually published as an award-winning journalist, professional writer and editor in Australia and New Zealand since 2002.

In 2006, Nicola joined the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ), where she rose up the ranks to become Executive Manager Corporate Affairs. A key part of her role was acting as the managing editor of the REIQ’s monthly 56-page industry magazine, as well as detailed property research and analysis.

Nicola brings her familiarity with membership organisations, in-depth understanding of real estate matters as well as her own property investment experience to the PIPA board.

Paul Glossop is the founder and director of Pure Property Investment.  With formal training in Architectural technology and education, Paul has built a bespoke buyers agency, focusing on the fundamentals of property investing.  Pure Property Investment was founded to provide clients with a truly holistic approach to property investment from initial consultation to the acquisition of property.

Pure Property Investment is a true partner for its clients through the entire journey and has been acknowledged within the property industry as a true leader by winning the 2017 Optus Business Awards as the Property Company of the Year.

Kylie is a researcher, presenter and marketing expert in the real estate and property industry whose insights help agents understand digital technologies and deliver excellent customer experiences.  

Kylie was previously Head of Content at CoreLogic where her role was to identify and take to market innovative products, business partnerships that help make the real estate industry more transparent, efficient and confident when transacting.  Previously, she spent nearly four years as Network Editor of Real Estate at News Corp Australia.  There she trained journalists to understand and write about property data to a general audience.  It was during this time she began her property investment portfolio.

Kylie has has a 25-year-career in media, holding senior editor and entrepreneur roles across Fairfax and News, and at 25 was the founder and publisher of hyper-local newspaper The Village Voice.  Since joining CoreLogic in 2014, Kylie's research has set the agenda for lifting professional standards for real estate agents.  She is the author of five landmark studies that identify the importance of improving the customer experience for buying and selling and is a regular contributor to property magazines, radio and commententor on Sky Real Estate. 


 

Director: Richard Crabb

Richard is the Founder and Managing Director of the ASPIRE Advisor Network.  After an extensive career in corporate finance and through his personal investing experience, Richard identified the need to create a system and framework that supports ethical, independent property investment advisors who operate in the new property market.  The ASPIRE Advisor Network now supports indepedent property advisors across Australia by providing their buisness engine and acquisition process, designed around concepts of future compliance in the brand new property sector. 

Richard together with the ASPIRE team have also developed a complete end to end software platform, which is leading the way to deliver property investment advice in the new property space.
